Hello – I’m Katy! I grew up in Bristol but now live in Camborne, Cornwall with my family. I count myself very lucky to live where I do with gorgeous countryside and beaches on our doorstep.
As a child I loved creating, especially making furniture for my dolls and learning cross stitch and patchwork. As an adult I am not much different and am happiest when I am sewing! I wrote a blog post on what sewing means to me and the impact on my mental health which you can see here.
When my children were at nursery, I started volunteering at the nursery doing sewing and craft sessions with the children once a week. That then led to me doing a session for Mum’s and Grandparents of children at the nursery and I loved doing these sessions so much, What Katy Stitched was born.
I am keen to pass on my love of sewing and to offer people a way to switch off, relax and learn a new skill. My shop is a great excuse for me to get to keep sewing with beautiful fabrics. My sewing classes & workshops are perfect if you are wanting to learn how to sew, improve your sewing machine skills or develop your hand-sewing skills.
